50 Halloween Costumes You Probably Wish You Thought Of Yourself (New Pics)

Uncategorized

The holiday season is upon us: we’ll soon be feasting upon pumpkins, followed by turkeys (plump and with tiny pilgrim hats), and, well, more turkeys (plumper and with tiny Santa hats). Since Halloween is closing in on us like the Grim Reaper, you’re probably thinking about what costume to wear if you haven’t ordered or sewn your own already.

Our Bored Panda witches and warlocks have been busy casting summoning spells and concocting the perfect list of Halloween costumes. We hope you’ll enjoy them and that they’ll inspire you to show everyone who’s boss while you’re out trick-or-treating and dancing all night long at your Halloween bash.

You think you love Halloween? Odds are, we love it more. Way more. In fact, I’m pretty sure that pumpkin juice flows through our veins. Check out Bored Panda’s posts about Halloween here, here, here, here, and here. It’s scary how many of these we’ve summoned from the Pumpkin Realm. [Roll of thunder followed by an evil cackle]

Halloween is a great time to let out your inner creative imp. Whether you want to show off to your friends, leave a great impression on that girl or boy that you like, or scare off spooky spirits like Sam and Dean from Supernatural, it’s imperative that you look good.

And for that, you need a costume. Something different from the crowd. Something that stands out. Something that hasn’t been done before.

However, there’s nothing new under the sun, so instead of going for total originality that might backfire, instead, go for something a bit unusual but make your costume well.

After all, it’s the quality of the costume and your ability to roleplay that pirate/knight/Jedi/superhero that counts most, not just impressing others with your innovative ideas. We’d rather dress to the nines as Castiel (some of us already wear trench coats almost daily) than pretend to be some niche character from some show nobody’s ever seen.

There are many traditions associated with Halloween and one of them has to do with keeping away fairies if you’re Irish or have ancestors back in the Land of a Thousand Welcomes. According to local folklore, if you don’t want your things stolen by those darn pesky fairies on October 31, you should dress up, carve faces into pumpkins, light blazing bonfires, and keep yourself surrounded by black cats. Otherwise, the fairies might get you. In fact, we heartily recommend surrounding yourself with cats throughout the year. Just in case.

After Spending A Sleepless Night Because Of His Children, Ryan Reynolds Says What Every Parent Is Thinking

Uncategorized

Let’s be honest… Children, especially the youngest ones, can be pretty exhausting. The worst part is probably their stubbornness when it comes to bedtime. Some of them just plainly refuse to sleep, often costing a good night’s sleep to their parents too. Recently, actor Ryan Reynolds, who is probably best known for his role in the superhero movie Deadpool, revealed what he really thinks about his kids who made him look tired before a photoshoot.

Reynolds has gained much attention online for his candid and honest sense of humor. The actor doesn’t shy away from roasting his kids and even his own wife, Blake Lively. Luckily, the couple shares the same sense of humor and understands each other’s jokes well. So there were no hard feeling from Lively when Reynolds posted a hilarious compilation of her really unflattering photos during her birthday.

Recently, Reynolds made people laugh again by calling out his kids on Instagram. He posted photos from a photoshoot promoting his Aviation Gin and mentioning those who have helped with it. After shouting out to his photographer and hairstylist, Reynolds didn’t forget to mention his little kids – 4-year-old James and 2-year-old Inez, who were credited for causing his under-eye bags.

“LOVE this @AviationGin shoot with the legendary @guyaroch. Hair by @serafinosays and styling by @joseph.episcopo. Bags under my eyes by two thankless a**holes who refused to go to bed the night before, despite the fact I read them Winnie the Pooh and nearly half of Stephen King’s The Shining,” he wrote in the caption.

Honestly, there’s probably plenty of parents out there who have looked at themselves in the morning and thought exactly the same thing. But, of course, Reynolds doesn’t actually think his kids are little jerks, so to speak. The actor is once again, just cracking jokes at the expense of his children and people absolutely love it! His hilarious candid comments on his lovely children never go unnoticed.

The happily married father of two is expecting another baby with his wife. And while he often tweets about little annoyances of having kids, Ryan and his wife Blake try to keep them out of the spotlight. “Ryan had a nice, normal upbringing, and we want our kids to have the same normal life that we had,” Blake told Marie Claire in 2016.

This 8 Y.O. Boy Saw An Autistic Boy Crying On The First Day Of School, Grabbed His Hand And Walked Him To Class

Uncategorized

If you recall your first day at school, you probably remember how stressful it was. Suddenly you’re in a new place, surrounded by all these new faces – it can get quite overwhelming, especially when you’re a kid. However, having someone you can trust by your side can quickly make all of your fears go away.

Courtney Moore recently shared a photo of her son, Christian, holding his classmate Connor’s hand and the photo quickly went viral for all the good reasons. On their first day at school, Christian noticed Connor crying in a corner and decided to console him. At the time, Christian didn’t know that Connor had autism and that one of the reasons he was crying was because he felt overwhelmed by the new environment.

“Before school, he was super excited to start the day. I wasn’t there so I can only guess what caused him to cry but he does get overwhelmed with too much going on around him or if it’s too noisy and he also has very strong emotions so when he is either upset or super happy it is usually expressed in tears,” Connor’s mom  April told Bored Panda.

A photo of two elementary school boys recently went viral for all the right reasons

“I saw him on the ground with Connor as Connor was crying in the corner and he was consoling him. He grabs his hand and walks him to the front door,” said Courtney in an interview with KAKE. “We waited until the bell rang and he walked him inside of the school. The rest is history. They have an inseparable bond.” April have told us, that the boys became good friends. “From what they have told us they find each other at recess, we have had 2 playdates since the picture was taken and once things calm down after we move hopefully there will be some sleepovers,” she said.

While Connor’s parents weren’t present during his first day of school, they were happy to know that someone took care of him. “Well Conner had chosen to ride the bus so his father and I were not present during this which is why reading Courtney’s post made me cry, school is one of the few times he is not with us personally and knowing that he got so overwhelmed without us around to comfort him hurt but also seeing that simple kind gesture from Christian was absolutely heartwarming.” April said that her son was diagnosed with autism when he was around 6 years old. “We realized that he was not progressing and actually regressed in some things at around 18 months but his doctors kept telling us that he was just a boy and it would just take time,” she explained. When asked what challenges Connor faces due to being neuroatypical, she said: “The challenges for him I would say is communication, he gets really frustrated when we don’t understand what he has said or when you try to talk to him about something other than what he wants to discuss. And I would say connecting with other kids is another, just recently Conner was asking his father and I to make friends for him.”

“He was kind to me.  I was in the 1st day of school and I started crying then he helped me and I was happy,” said  Connor Crites. The boys went on to be good friends, playing together and enjoying superhero movies. We guess it’s true what they say – true friendship knows no bounds!

8 Actors And Their Bodies Before And After They Got That Call From Marvel

Uncategorized

Sometimes it’s hard to motivate yourself to hit the gym. But a six and even seven-figure salary might just do the trick. Recently, a Marvel fan compiled photos of actors before and after they got to play their badass superhero roles and their body transformations are incredible. Of course, many demanding roles have actors working way before they even step foot on the set, but if you’re beating up bad guys for breakfast, there’s no question about it. Bulking up is a must.

Robert Downey, Jr.

Chris Pratt

Chris Pratt, for example, went through “three or four hours a day of consistent, ass-kicking hard work” to be able to star in Guardians of the Galaxy. Before ditching 60 pounds in six months, he weighed around 300 pounds. Marvel paired Pratt with personal trainer Duffy Gaver and nutritionist Phil Goglia. Goglia revamped Pratt’s diet, hiking his caloric intake to 4,000 calories a day and adding lots and lots of water— one for every pound he weighed. “I was peeing all day long, every day. That part was a nightmare,” Pratt said. Pratt said he purposely gained weight for his Parks and Recreation character Andy Dwyer, but now he’s committed to remaining ripped: “It gave me a sense of absolute control,” he said.

Chris Hemsworth

Out of all the actors who had to pack on mass for their Marvel movie, few have taken up the task with such dedication and success as Chris Hemsworth when he landed the part of Thor. For the first film, Hemsworth teamed up with trainer and former Navy SEAL, Duffy Gaver, who applied an old-school bodybuilding approach — with careful attention given to Hemsworth’s arms and shoulders. Thor, after all, often appears sleeveless but rarely shirtless. All in all, Hemsworth gained 20 pounds, laying the foundation for a physique he’s maintained at or close to peak condition for Thor’s recurring role in The Avengers and the solo sequel, Thor: The Dark World.

Eventually, Hemsworth became a model of consistency and the physique he built has made the “Chris Hemsworth Workout” the top search suggestion when you type his name into Google. “People see Chris and they think he was on steroids but he didn’t touch a single substance,” Gaver says. “It was just red meat, heavy weights, and some protein powder. He crushed every single workout. He simply decided to look like Thor.”

13-Years-Old Girl Gets Juice Thrown At Her Face, Punched And Even Shown A Knife By Schoolmates Only For Picking Up Litter

Uncategorized

Meet Nadia Sparks, a 13-year-old student from Norwich, England, who took on the noble task of picking up trash on her way to school every day to help make the world a better place. Since she started her project, she has picked up over 1100 liters of garbage, much of which has been recycled, and she has inspired countless others to start doing the same.

Nadia is exactly the kind of person we need more of, someone who cares about her community and the Earth that we all share. However, bullies at her school saw her positive behavior as something to use against her, and started taunting her with the name ‘trash girl.’

Undeterred, Nadia turned the bullying on its head by embracing the term, which she said made her sound “like a superhero.” She continued with her cleaning crusade and started up the ‘Team Trash Girl‘ Facebook page, where she encourages others to post their own litter-picking stories.

“I wanted to find a way to help everyone support one another, to help fix the planet’s problems before it becomes unfixable,” she writes.  “So, please try to pick up 3 pieces of litter today. Show us what you have found. Let’s all support each other to make the world a better place.”

After her story first went viral in 2018, Nadia became an ambassador for the wildlife charity WWF and has won international recognition and awards. She was even immortalized in cartoon form, and, being a keen artist herself, is also publishing her own environment-themed cartoon in a local newspaper.

But her bullies didn’t let up. If anything, the attention that Nadia was getting only seemed to fuel their jealousy and bitterness. Nadia had cups of orange juice thrown at her, she was shown a knife and even punched, leading to police eventually getting involved and Nadia having to change schools.

Now at a new school, Reepham High, Nadia has a perfect teacher in Matt Willer, who she first met when they were both nominated for an eco hero award.

Mr Willer, who runs an allotment project, told the BBC: “I’d heard of the amazing work she was doing collecting rubbish and how, very sadly, she was being bullied because she was doing something different.”

“This hit a nerve with me and we discussed how Nadia might like to come and have a look at Reepham High.”

Mr. Willer said the teenager would be a “huge asset” to the allotment project.

“All the volunteers look forward to working with her as we all set a sound example about respecting the environment and living more sustainably.”

Nadia’s old school, Hellesdon High, said students’ safety and welfare was of paramount importance. “We promote an ethos that reflects high moral standards, a culture of social responsibility and fosters a safe learning environment for all students. All students are respected and their individuality is valued,” Hellesdon principal Tom Rolfe said.

But Paula Sparkes, Nadia’s mom, said her daughter was not supported at Hellesdon High. “The staff were not on her side to help and support her and we felt it was not appropriate for her to be there any more,” she said.

Nadia continues to go from strength to strength under her moniker of ‘Trash Girl,’ a name that was designed to taunt her but now brings her so much pride and determination. Her fans regularly upload their own pics of themselves cleaning up Britain on her Facebook page, some of which you can see below.
